About us

Meet the Hess family

We're a fun-loving family with huge hearts for animals, raising doodle puppies in our home in northern Utah.

Our family

We have four kids who absolutely love dogs and are a huge help socializing the puppies. They've grown up learning to love and respect animals.

We love everything outdoors. Summers mean swimming in rivers and ponds and fishing on the farm, and our favorite place to be together is the mountains: skiing, hiking, biking and rock climbing.

We live out in the country overlooking a beautiful mountain range in northern Utah, about 60 minutes from Salt Lake City.

Why we do this

Avery's story

Our daughter Avery is the motivation behind raising the best puppies we possibly can for families who need a therapy dog at home.

Avery was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 8. Adjusting to life with a child who needed constant medical and emotional help was exhausting. Through all of it, our Goldendoodle June knew exactly who to love and what to do.

We've since trained Georgia as Avery's diabetic alert dog. Sleeping in Avery's room, Georgia has woken her in the middle of the night when her blood sugar was dropping to dangerous lows. How incredible are dogs?

So to say we're passionate about the dogs we raise is an understatement. We spend hours training and doing therapy work with every puppy before they leave our home and enter your heart.

The heart of it all

Meet MaRea

MaRea is the fuel behind this whole dream, and it's been a long time coming. Her family raised Great Danes when she was a teenager, which sparked her passion for dogs. As newlyweds we bred Great Danes for a few years, then life got busy and we stepped away.

Then MaRea met a Goldendoodle at her son's baseball game and instantly fell in love.

Today she leads the early learning work that gives our puppies their foundation. She loves babies of all kinds, especially puppies, and she cares just as much about placing her "babies" in loving homes where they'll add to the love that's already there.
