Deposit

A $250 non-refundable deposit holds your spot on the litter of your choice. We accept 5–6 deposits per litter, then start a wait list.

Sizes

We breed mini and standard sizes. Size estimates come from the parents and past litters; we can't guarantee a puppy's adult size, but we'll have a good idea by selection time.

Spay/neuter

All puppies go home on a spay/neuter agreement. A vasectomy or ovary-sparing spay is acceptable and encouraged. We occasionally work with other reputable breeders.

Frequently asked questions

How do you raise your puppies?

We raise our puppies with the Puppy Culture program, starting with Early Neurological Stimulation at 3 days old and continuing for the whole 9 weeks they're with us. That includes crate training, clicker training, the beginnings of house training, sound therapy, touch desensitization and lots of other confidence builders.

Puppies learn to potty in a designated area of their play pen as early as 4 weeks, and by 6 weeks they go outside at least 3 times a day. At 8 weeks we start leash training, "sit" for attention and an introduction to "down." Learn more about our program.

Should I expect a "perfect" puppy?

Nope! Our puppies are just that: puppies. They'll still get into mischief, nibble hands, have accidents and test boundaries. We give them the best start we can, but your training, time and commitment will shape the dog they become.

We highly recommend group puppy classes and finding a positive-reinforcement trainer to continue what we started. A tired puppy is a good puppy!

How does the reservation process work?

Submit an application, then place a $250 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot. Spots can't be reserved until the deposit is received; we get so many inquiries that we can't hold places without one. Reservation lists fill fast.

How do I get my puppy home?

You can pick up your puppy at our home, or we can meet you at the Salt Lake City airport (SLC). We also offer a flight nanny who will fly your puppy to you for a $500 fee (space is limited and not always available). We get puppies used to a soft-sided airline carrier ahead of time to keep travel low-stress.

If you can't make the go-home date, we're happy to keep your puppy a few extra days when possible. Shipping a puppy alone on a plane is our very last option, but we understand it's sometimes the only one.

Do you offer training?

Yes! Our Puppy Head Start Program continues your puppy's training with us for $450/week, with a 2-week minimum (payment due by 7 weeks of age). We focus on leash manners, house manners and obedience using positive clicker training. Spots are very limited.

How do you choose which puppy I get?

We match puppies by temperament first and foremost. We'll consider your preferences for size, color and gender, but can't guarantee an exact match every time. Personality matters most, and we'll work with you to find the best fit for your family.

What if there aren't enough puppies for the reservation list?

It happens occasionally and is out of our control. We're happy to transfer your deposit to the next available litter, or we'll refund it if you'd prefer.

Peace of mind

One-year health guarantee

We guarantee your puppy to be free of genetic problems until one year of age. Your puppy will leave our home in good general health with no physical defects, de-wormed and with vaccinations given at 7 weeks, as recorded in the Puppy Health Record in your puppy folder.

Vet visit within 48 hours. You must take your puppy to your veterinarian within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving them for an exam, worm testing and treatment if needed, and to schedule ongoing vaccinations. If you skip this visit, or don't keep up with vaccinations and de-worming, this guarantee is void.

Parasites. Intestinal parasites and ear mites are common in puppies, and the stress of change and travel can cause parasites to show up after a puppy leaves its mother. We do everything we can to prevent them. You agree to continue testing and treatment with your vet. We're not responsible for the cost of treating worms or parasites.

If your vet finds a problem. Notify us immediately and provide your vet's written description of the problem, dated within 48 hours of receiving your puppy.

Genetic defects. Genetic defects are covered for one year from the date of birth. A written exam from your vet must state that a genetic defect exists, along with x-rays or other appropriate testing. If a genetic defect is confirmed, you'll receive a refund of the puppy's price or a replacement puppy when available, at the breeder's option. Exams and tests are the buyer's responsibility.

Before treatment. Contact us for a consultation before any treatment or surgery for genetic defects or other health problems, and provide the written diagnosis and receipts.

Your part. Keep your puppy at a healthy weight for its size, prevent exercise that strains growing joints, feed a quality food formulated for your puppy, and keep all vaccinations current.

What we feed

Food we trust

We feed and recommend Life's Abundance, a premium, holistically formulated food for all life stages. It isn't sold in stores; it's shipped fresh to your door.

Because it's higher in calories per cup and highly digestible, you feed less than with many other brands. Less food in means less to clean up in the yard, and it often ends up costing less too.
